STRATEGI PREVENTIF UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI GURU PAI SMP 4 MA'ARIF NU MANTUP DIERA DIGITALISASI

The development of information technology in the digital era brings great changes in education, including Islamic religious learning (PAI). PAI teachers face difficulties to incorporate technology while maintaining Islamic values. The purpose of this study is to determine preventive methods that can be used to improve PAI teachers' abilities at SMP 4 Ma'arif NU Mantup. The research was conducted in a descriptive qualitative manner with a case study involving observation and in-depth interviews. The results showed that mapping teachers' competency needs, developing a regular monitoring program, building a professional learning community, and increasing digital literacy training are preventive strategies. Limited access to technology and teachers' desire are the main problems. To meet the demands of the digitalization era of education, improving teacher competencies can be achieved gradually and contextually through strategic efforts.
