This study explores the management of Project-Based Learning (PBL) embedded in muhadhoroh activities within a modern Islamic boarding school context. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis to examine how PBL is structured and implemented in authentic pesantren learning practices. The findings reveal that muhadhoroh functions as an organized project-based learning ecosystem encompassing planning, performance, and reflective evaluation stages. The implementation promotes student-centered learning by positioning students as planners, performers, and evaluators of learning projects. The study also demonstrates that muhadhoroh contributes significantly to the development of communication skills, leadership, confidence, and collaborative competencies. Importantly, the findings highlight that project-based learning in this context is culturally embedded, emerging from indigenous pesantren traditions rather than direct adoption of Western pedagogies. From a managerial perspective, successful PBL implementation is supported by strong mentoring leadership, institutional learning culture, and continuous collective evaluation. This study contributes to Islamic education discourse by proposing a culturally grounded model of project-based learning that integrates tradition and contemporary pedagogy, offering insights for broader application in Islamic educational institutions.
