Authorship Criteria

Qualification for Authorship

To be credited as an author in FIKRUNA, all listed individuals must meet all four (4) of the following criteria:

  • Substantial Contributions: Substantial contributions to the conception, design, acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work in educational research, pedagogy, or educational management.
  • Drafting or Revising: Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  • Final Approval: Final approval of the version to be published.
  • Accountability: Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The designated Corresponding Author acts as the primary contact between the editorial team and co-authors during manuscript submission, peer review, and publication. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria.
  • Ensuring that no eligible author has been omitted.
  • Obtaining written confirmation/approval from all authors prior to final publication.
  • Handling administrative requirements, ethics approval disclosures, and conflict of interest declarations.

Non-Author Contributions (Acknowledgments)

Contributors who do not meet all four criteria above should not be listed as authors. Instead, their contributions should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section. Examples of non-author contributions include:

  • General supervision or administrative support of the research group or school project.
  • Language editing, proofreading, or technical formatting assistance.
  • Data collection or proof-testing assistance without analytical input.

Authorship Changes

Any requests for addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the manuscript must be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief before the manuscript is accepted for publication.

  • The request must include the reason for the change.
  • Written confirmation (via email or signed form) from all authors (including those being added or removed) agreeing to the modification is required.

Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies

In accordance with publishing ethics, Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT) do not meet the requirements for authorship. AI tools cannot take responsibility for the integrity or accuracy of submitted work.

  • Authors using AI tools for manuscript preparation, data analysis, or graphics must explicitly disclose their usage in the methodology or acknowledgments section.
  • Authors remain fully accountable for the entire content of their submitted paper.
