Abstract

Islamic-based character education is very important in shaping the young generation who have noble morals, especially in the midst of the moral challenges of the digital era. This article examines how the habit of congregational prayer and reciting the book of Ta'limul Muta'allim at MTs Plus Ath-Thohiriyyah Blawirejo can strengthen the Islamic character of students. The main focus of this study is to analyze the impact of the two activities on the formation of students' religious character. This study applies a qualitative approach with a case study design, where data is obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the habit of congregational prayer and ngaji sorogan plays an important role in instilling discipline, responsibility, and moral and spiritual values in students. These findings make a significant contribution to the theory of Islamic character education and enrich the literature related to the practice of religious education that combines rituals of worship with book learning. The conclusion of this study is that both activities not only strengthen the spiritual aspects of students, but also help form a more disciplined and responsible character. Future research may explore ways to improve students' consistency and motivation to participate in religious activities more effectively.
