Reading is a vital receptive skill for comprehending written English, encompassing the ability to grasp main ideas, sequences, details, and make inferences and predictions. Reading comprehension is described as a dynamic and complex cognitive process involving interaction between the reader and the text to construct meaning. There are three main processes involved in reading comprehension: bottom-up processing (recognizing individual units like letters and words), top-down processing (using prior knowledge and making predictions), and interactive processing (combining both bottom-up and top-down approaches)
